Re: Simple Q&A
After looking over some builds on smogon for pokemon i know that i've seen used well or like personally, i've decided to start my first team with a CB Flygon and a calm Max HP/SpD Milotic. I've figured out i need a stealth rock user to back up Flygon, but am unsure of who to utilize there. Obviously trying to stay mostly offensive.
Here's what i'm looking at:
Milotic - Calm @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 SpD / 6 SpA
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk
Surf
Flygon - Adamant @ Choice Band
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP
Earthquake
Fire Blast
Outrage
U-Turn
Thoughts?

With Milotic I'd take a Bold nature rather than Calm just to make sure you can take some physical hits before doubling your Defense with Rest.
And for the Flygon, take Naughty/Lonely nature instead so as not to reduce your Sp.A, and take Flamethrower over Fire Blast for accuracy, as the fire move is on there for Forry, Scizor and Skarmory; the former two are OHKO'ed by Flamethrower anyway, and the latter cannot hurt Flygon much so if you need to 2HKO with Flamethrower it is fine still but at least it is guaranteed to hit.

Thank you so much! I'll make those adjustments. Any recommendations on where to go from here or on which SRer to use? I'm thinking that i may add a Scizor to the team too.

Re: Simple Q&A
Well since you are starting off it depends; if you want to keep your first battles to people of an equal experience level then an Aerodactyl is a perfect lead for Stealth Rock, but if you are trying to up your game Aero can be a little too predictable, so maybe Forretress, Azelf, Hippowdon, or even a less used Pokemon like Claydol or Donphan.

Re: Simple Q&A
Alright, I'm thinking Donphan will be my Stealth Rock lead, should i also put Rapid Spin on him? And How does Gengar, Scizor, and potentially Heatran sound to rough out the other 3 spots?

Re: Simple Q&A
Rapid Spin sounds good!
Donphan @Leftovers
(I forget its ability)
Impish
252 HP, 156 Sp.Def, 80 Def or Att
-> Rapid Spin
-> Stealth Rock
-> Ice Shard
-> Earthquake/Stone Edge
For Scizor, go with the Banded set, Heatran's Scarfed Set and maybe a Life Orb Set on Gengar.
I know these are Smogon's sets, but you would be best to stick with the original sets until you get a little more experienced at battling.

Don't you mean standard sets and not original???
And I would say putting Sp.D on Donphan is a waste since it still stay pitifully low even on max Sp.D. Just max HP and Defense.

And thanks for brushing up the EV's. I checked Donphan's stats and noticed the pitiful Special Defence..

I used to run mirror coat on Milotic and worked decently if you want to consider that. Since its bulky, it tends to work.
